Sensual Glimpse | Denver Boudoir Photography

Storytelling has always been at the center of the work I create. When I knew that boudoir would be the genre that I moved forward with, I began a long process of determining what my take would be.

How would I approach the visuals and the compositions, based on the stories that I believe are there? Is it about empowerment? Is it about sensuality? How can I lead the audience to those feelings, but with the right path to impact?

Horror films. (insert record scratch here)

The best movies that terrified me were those that didn’t let me fully see the monster until the very end of the story. My imagination would make the monster more and more horrific with every little glimpse and thus each moment was heightened in intensity and power.

Why not apply the same methodology for impact and art, to boudoir photography?

The curves of the body, carefully crafted with light. The “finger dance” to suggest a narrative of the subject to the viewer. Or in the words of the client “now that’s hot.”
